Hand knotted rugs are made by skilled weavers who hand tie every knot.

Traditionally made with wool or silk the weaver ties each knot around the warp threads one at a time.

An Oriental rug can consist of 25 to over 9000 knots per square inch (kpsi) and can take many months to produce just one rug. Each rug becomes a one-of-a-kind hand made piece of art.

Since hand knotted rugs take the longest to make, therefore the cost is typically greater than hand tufted or machine made rugs. Hand knotted rugs come in all styles; traditional, transitional and contemporary.
